Volunteering at the Library

Teen Volunteers

We are currently full. If you are interested in putting your name on the waiting list, please contact Josie Griffin at 727-369-0664.


The minimum age to volunteer is 13 years old. 

The Volunteer Application packet includes: 

  • Affidavit of Good Moral Character which must be signed and notarized by the potential volunteer and a parent
  • Form for a Criminal History Records Check
  • Informational sheet
  • Volunteer application

Once the volunteer packet has been completed and returned, you will be contacted for an interview and will be required to attend orientation for volunteer training. If you have any questions, please call 727-369-0664 and speak to Josie Griffin. You may also email Josie Griffin.

How you can help us

  • Assisting with children's programs
  • Cleaning and organizing library shelves, toys, and furniture
  • Craft preparation
  • Creative contributions to programs such as creating storyboards, sewing, backdrop painting, Creating props for displays, etc.
  • Organizing Youth Services work area
  • Participating in storytelling
  • Shelving library materials
  • Taking part in the library's Summer Reading Program (June and July)

Teen Advisory Board (T.A.B.)


  • Helps to plan programs for teens
  • Promotes the library in the community
  • Suggests new materials
  • Just generally have fun


Teens meet monthly with Library staff; meetings are usually held the first Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m.
