CITY CHARTER REVIEW COMMITTEE

Charter Review Committee Application

The City Charter Review Committee is being established and will consist of seven (7) voting members. Five (5) members will be designated by City Council and the remaining two (2) members shall be selected by vote of the City Council based upon applications received by the City Clerk’s Office. All members must be City residents. The function of this committee will be to review, study, and make proposals to City Council, that there is a need to amend, move, or delete any of the existing Sections of the City Charter to harmonize said Charter with the present State Constitution and State Laws, as well as review it so as to make it reflective of the needs of the Community. After appointment of the members of the Charter Review Committee, the committee shall meet no later than May 1, 2019 for the purpose of organization and setting the time and day of their meetings, with all their meetings being open to the public, pursuant to the Florida Sunshine Law. Applications for the Charter Review Committee may be obtained from the City Clerk’s Office, 5141 78th Avenue North, on the City’s Website, or by calling and requesting an application at 727-369-0616.
