Councilman -  W.E. "Ed" Taylor, III

W.E. "Ed" Taylor, III was elected to City Council in March 1998, and re-elected in 2002 and 2006. Ed currently represents our City as a member of the Tampa Bay Regional Planning Council (TBRPC) and the Pinellas Park Water Management District (PPWMD). He has also represented the City the Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority Board of Directors (PSTA) and the Agency on Bay Management (ABM).

Councilman Taylor's service to our community and the Tampa Bay area includes past President of the Pinellas Park Historical Society, Board of Trustees of the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation, Pinellas Park Art Society member and sponsor, Friends of the Library, Pinellas Park Rotary Club, Community Spirit in the Park Parade Committee, Pinellas Park Chamber of Commerce, St. Vincent DePaul Society, Knights of Columbus and the Diocesan Board of Catholic Formation and Education. He also serves on the Stewardship Committee and is a Coordinator of the Annual Fall Festival at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Pinellas Park.

As a native of the Tampa Bay area, Ed has seen our region grow from dirt roads to interstates, from open unrestricted beaches and rural citrus groves to urban commercial and high rise residential developments. The challenge of finding solutions for the issues facing our City today are the foundations for its progress in the future. "As density increases we must create realistic local ordinances to manage the close proximity of zoning districts, provide affordable workforce housing and be ever vigilant to the threat of hurricanes.

Ed is the owner of Taylor Family Funeral Home in Pinellas Park. Ed is married to his ever understanding & lovely wife Barbara and they have two sons, John and Bryan.
