Capital Improvements Program
The Planning Division annually updates the Capital Improvements Program which is a facility planning tool that lists public facilities and public works. Capital Improvement programming provides the decision makers in Pinellas Park with the ability to gain an overall perspective on new development in the City and to coordinate governmental capital improvement and outlay plans with general community growth and expansion. This enables the city to foresee repair and replacement needs. A CIP helps to assure logical development of public facilities and to avoid concentrating too much on certain types of projects to the exclusion or shortcomings of other public facility and capital needs. A capital improvement program requires the involvement of the City Council, administration, operating departments, and citizens to achieve program implementation and success. The successful implementation depends upon the fiscal capability of the the City to finance approved projects, annual program update, and technical review for project feasibility.
The CIP a programming tool which enables the City Council and administration to be prepared in advance with adequate knowledge of the City's fiscal means and resources. The Capital Improvements Program may be reviewed at the Planning Division or the City Library. Copies of the Capital Improvements Program can be obtained from the Planning Division.
