Q: Who maintains the major canals?

A:

Q: How often does the City mow the ditches?

A:
Two to three times per year during the growing season.


Q: How often does the City clean the ditches?

A:
We only remove blockages that would tend to interfere with the flow of the stormwater through the ditch. Therefore, only as blockages occur.


Q: Who maintains the right-of-way between the ditches and the property line?

A: The homeowner is responsible for the maintenance of the right-of-way adjacent to their property outside of the ditch banks.


Q: Who maintains the ponds within the City?

A: The City maintains the City owned retention/detention ponds. All other ponds located within private property or easement are the responsibility of the property owner.


Q: How do I report illicit discharges into the storm sewers and ditches?

A: Call the Pinellas County HotLine for illicit discharges at (727) 464-5060 and they will notify the proper jurisdiction.
