Emergency Medical System (EMS)
Pinellas Park Fire Department's EMS Division provides emergency response services to the public within the Pinellas Park Fire District. The EMS Division is part of Fire Operations and is managed by the District Chief of EMS along with a Staff Lieutenant assigned to EMS. DSCN1014

The Pinellas Park Fire Department is part of the Pinellas County EMS, the county-wide Emergency Medical System. This system provides a dual response to emergencies once a 911 call is placed. On medical calls or vehicle crashes, a unit from the Fire Department is dispatched to the scene as well as a unit from SunStar, the county ambulance service. Both units are ALS (Advanced Life Support), which means paramedics are on board. Hospital transport is handled by SunStar which allows the Fire Department unit to go available for other calls. In some situations, a Paramedic from the Fire Department will ride along to the hospital to give assistance if needed. Normally, a Fire Department Rescue Unit does not transport patients to a hospital.

DSCN1010Pinellas Park Fire Department responds to an average of 13,000 calls a year. Nearly 80% of those calls are medical. Our average response time to each call is approximately 4 minutes. Currently we operate out of 4 Fire Stations with 6 Advance Life Support Vehicles and 2 Basic Life Support Vehicles.
