Q:What is the Pinellas Park Angel Fund?

A: The Pinellas Park Angel Fund is a non-profit organization created by the City of Pinellas Park to provide emergency assistance to Pinellas Park residents and utility customers.


Q:What kinds of assistance does the Pinellas Park Angel Fund offer?

A: The Pinellas Park Angel Fund currently offers three kinds of assistance:

  1. utility bill assistance for overdue utilities
  2. rent and mortgage assistance
  3. selected child care costs
  4. The Fund may also support community events designed to help Pinellas Park families locate additional resources and sources of assistance.

Q: How do I contribute to the Pinellas Park Angel Fund through my utility bill?
 
A: Utility bill customers can contribute to the Pinellas Park Angel Fund in one of three ways:

1. By signing up to add a contribution to each month's bill. Utility customers can indicate a monthly contribution of $0.25, $0.50, $1.00, or any other amount. After they sign up, each monthly utility bill will include their donation and will indicate the total payment amount.

2. Utility bills received by customers who have not signed up for a monthly donation will include a blank box for write-in contributions. Utility customers may then write in a contribution in any amount in any month if they choose, and add it to their total.

3. Utility customers may also make a donation by separate check to the Pinellas Park Angel Fund and mail it with their bill.

If you have a bill paying service or do not pay your water bill directly to the City of Pinellas Park, you may make a separate donation by check to the Pinellas Park Angel Fund, P.O. Box 1337, Pinellas Park, FL, 33780-1337



Q: How do I withdraw from making utility bill donations?

A:If you have signed up for the monthly donation to the Pinellas Park Angel Fund but choose not to contribute to the Angel Fund in any single month, simply pay the utility bill total and do not include the donation in your payment.

If you wish to withdraw from the program at any time, you may do so by contacting Pinellas Park Utility Billing, P.O. Box 1337, Pinellas Park, FL 33780-1337, Telephone 541-0711. 



Q: How do I make a donation if I am not a utility customer?

A: You may make a separate donation by check to the Pinellas Park Angel Fund, P.O. Box 1337, Pinellas Park, FL 33780-1337. 



Q: Are my contributions tax-deductible? 

A: The Pinellas Park Angel Fund is registered as a not for profit corporation in the State of Florida, and is recognized as a tax-exempt charitable organization under Internal Revenue Code 501(c)(3). Contributions to the Angel Fund are considered tax-deductible for federal income tax purposes. Donations of more than $250.00 require a receipt in order to claim a deduction. Receipts for donations by separate check are available upon request.


Q: Can my business make donations to the Pinellas Park Angel Fund? 

A: Yes, the Pinellas Park Angel Fund welcomes donations by area businesses. Contributions can be made out to the Pinellas Park Angel Fund and mailed to: Pinellas Park Angel Fund, P.O. Box 1337, Pinellas Park, FL 33780-1337. Receipts for donations of more than $250.00 are available upon request.



Q: How do I apply for assistance? 

A: Applications are received by appointment only.  To schedule an appointment, call 541-0896.


Q: Who qualifies for assistance? 

A: In order to be eligible for assistance, you must have your primary residence within the corporate limits of the City of Pinellas Park or within the Pinellas Park Water and Sewer Districts; fall within the income limits of the program; and demonstrate need. Employees of the City of Pinellas Park and their immediate families are not eligible to apply.



Q: How are recipients of assistance selected?

A: Eligible applicants will be granted assistance on a first-come, first-served basis while funds are available.
