Motorcyclist Killed in Crash

On Saturday, January 13, 2007, at approximately 6:30 a.m., police and emergency medical units were called to a motorcycle crash in the 3000 block of 118 Avenue North.  Crash investigators believe the motorcycle rider, who was alone, lost control of the motorcycle while making a lane change and was ejected.  He was traveling west and may have run over a slick section of roadway which may have contributed to the crash.

The operator of the motorcycle has been identified as Wayne A. Maness, 45, of Seminole, FL.  Mr. Maness suffered serious head injuries and died at the scene.  The motorcycle is a 1993 Honda Goldwing.  Mr. Maness was not wearing a protective helmet.

The crash investigation will continue.
