Pinellas Park Police Department Press Release Report# 2006-005220 Burglary February 20th, 2006 5:10 PM
Police responded to 5230 98 Terrace North reference a burglary in progress. Upon arrival officers determined the suspect had recently fled, but was injured. Blood at the scene indicated that the suspect had been cut by glass that was broken at the residence. The suspect had broken the front window after failing to pry open the front door. Police dispatch alerted all local hospitals to call if a subject arrived with severe lacerations. At 6:00 PM St. Petersburg General hospital called back stating they had a person in the emergency room with severe cuts to his hand. Officer Schroeder interviewed the subject at the hospital and determined that this was the suspect. He was identified as Lawrence Guinea Jr. of 5835 93rd Avenue North Pinellas Park (W/M age 20). Guinea stated that he was not trying to break into the residence but wanted just to cause damage as a pay back for a debt he feels is owed to him by the residence owner, Amy Norris. Guinea was charged with armed burglary (was carrying brass knuckles with him at time of arrest) and violation of probation (bond $100,000). Nothing was taken from the residence.
