On Saturday, March 29, 2008, at approximately 11:09 p.m., officers and fire rescue personnel responded to a single car crash at 8600 US 19.  A 2005 Chevrolet light pick-up truck , being driven by Jeffrey Carl Keogh, 18, of Odessa, FL was north on US 19 when for unknown reasons the truck traversed the southbound lanes and left the roadway striking a concrete culvert.  The truck went airborne and landed in a small wooded area, and in the process ejected two adult passengers riding in the bed of the truck.  The passengers were Aaron Caleb Kizer, 18, of Land-O-Lakes, Florida, and Sean Chandler  Lonergan, 18, of St. Petersburg , FL.

Lonergan and Keogh were transported to Bayfront Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.  Kizer was found under the truck when rescuers arrived and suffered burn injures.  He was transported to Tampa General Hospital and expected to recover.
