Suspect Escape from Police Custody
Location: Northside Hospital - 6000 49 Street North
Suspect: Haggerty, Allen J. W/M, D.O.B. 06/25/1961, 10375 60 ST N., Pinellas Park, FL 33782. Physical Description: 5'09, 165 lbs., Brown Hair, Brown Eyes (Subject still at large)
Charges: Dealing in Stolen Property, Grand Theft, Escape
Details:
Pinellas Park Police arrested Haggerty on the charges of dealing in stolen property and grand theft of metal from a Pinellas Park business. After his arrest, Haggerty claimed to be suffering from a leg injury due to an unrelated incident that he said had taken place the day before. Haggerty was transported to Northside Hospital where he was in the process of being evaluated by hospital staff for possible injuries. Haggerty managed to escape the hospital and despite a search utilizing police service dogs and the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office Aviation Unit, Haggerty eluded recapture and is still outstanding.
Details regarding the method of escape are unavailable at this time. This incident is still under investigation.
