On Thursday, June 29, 2006 at 1:42 p.m., the victim was North on 49^th Street in the left lane on a 2006 Kymco motor scooter. A 1992 Ford Explorer driven by Shandy Crews was westbound on 122^nd Avenue attempting to make left onto 49^th Street. In the course of making the turn, the Explorer struck the motor scooter.

The driver of the scooter passed away at 2:23 p.m. at Northside Hospital

The crash is still under investigation and traffic violation charges are pending.
