Officer Jason Nosal has resigned his position as a police officer for the City of Pinellas Park.  Nosal tendered his resignation on Wednesday evening, July 26th, 2006 effective immediately.  Nosal was charged with Driving while impaired, FSS 316.193, by the Largo Police Department stemming from their investigation on July 2nd, 2006.  A subsequent blood test showed Nosal with a blood/alcohol level above the legal limit of .08 and also showed positive for the controlled substance MDMA.  The internal affairs investigation shall now be completed and the documentation placed on file.

This internal investigation continues.  There has been no determination or disposition regarding this investigation.  This investigation is expected to be completed by Friday, July 28, 2006.

 

Pinellas Park Police Department

July 6th, 2006

The Pinellas Park Police Department is currently conducting an internal investigation involving the actions of police officer Jason Nosal.  On July 2nd, 2006 Largo Police Department was called by a citizen to a residence located on Cork Street in Largo where Jason Nosal was located in his car, stopped in the driveway.  Largo Police stated that Jason Nosal was unresponsive when they approached him to inquire why he was at this location.  During the police encounter, Jason Nosal was not being cooperative with the investigating officers, providing an indication that he may be ill or impaired.  Jason Nosal was transported to a local hospital for treatment.  The Pinellas Park Police internal investigation will examine if Officer Nosal violated any policies, rules or regulations.  Officer Nosal has been re-assigned to internal administrative duties pending the outcome of the internal investigation.

Officer Jason Nosal was hired by Pinellas Park in January of 2002.
