Police continue the investigation of a fatal crash occurring on Park Blvd near the railroad tracks and 58th Street North. Preliminary investigation indicates that Patricia Edwards was walking in the middle lane of Eastbound Park Blvd (SR694), possibly trying to cross the street although it is not clear what direction she was walking. Ms. Edwards was struck by an Eastbound passing motor vehicle and knocked to the ground. She had visible injuries to her head.

The crash was called in to police by other motorists who happened upon the scene after the crash. The victim had already expired prior to emergency crews arrival. Evidence collected at the scene indicates that the vehicle involved may be green in color and that the vehicle may have been towing some type of trailer. At this time investigators have not narrowed down the possible make or type of vehicle.

This crash occurred at 10:47 PM on Monday night, July 11th. Police are asking that if anyone witnessed this crash or observed a vehicle in this area at this time matching the above description to contact Officer John McNeil at 541-0758.

Next of kin notification was made to a sister of the victim who lives in St. Petersburg. We have no other information as to other relatives or family that may live in the area.
