DUI Arrest
Case# PP 2007-24868
Location: 49th Street / Park Blvd, Pinellas Park, FL
Time: 7:25 PM
Arrested: David Boston, male, dob/8-19-1978
A citizen reported to police dispatch that there was a dark red Range Rover stopped in the southbound lanes of 49th Street at the intersection of Park Blvd in Pinellas Park, and the driver of the vehicle appeared to be passed out at the steering wheel. A secondary call was also received by the Pinellas Park Fire Department with the same information. Police officers and fire paramedics arrived and found the vehicle as described stopped where it was reported to be with one male occupant passed out behind the steering wheel. The vehicle motor was still running as an officer approached. The driver was passed out with the vehicle still in drive. The officer awakened the driver and had him put the vehicle into park. The driver was identified as David Boston. The driver told the officer that he had recently left Orlando's Celebration area and was heading to Tampa International Airport. After completing a field sobriety examination at the scene, the investigating officer had probable cause to believe Mr. Boston had been driving (or was in physical control of a motor vehicle) upon a public roadway while under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance (violation of Florida Statute 316.193). At approximately 8:30 PM, Mr. Boston was transported to the Pinellas County Jail Central Breath Testing Facility located in Clearwater, Florida. Breath test results indicate no alcohol, urine test results are pending. (08.23.2007 10:45 PM)
