Traffic/DUI Enforcement Unit | Current Enforcement Waves

  • 09/09/2008 - The Special Operations Unit conducted a high visibility Traffic Enforcement Detail which focused on Speed / School Zone / School Stop Enforcement. The results are as follows: 23 Speeding, 11 Moving Violations, 7 Seat Belt Violations. There were a total of 46 citations issued during this detail.
  • 08/29/2008 - The Special Operations Unit Conducted a DUI Saturation Detail which focused on Impaired Drivers in the City of Pinellas Park on the July 4th Holiday. The results are as follows: 3 DUI Arrests, 17 Moving Violations. There were a total of 23 citation issued during this detail.
  • 08/12/2008 - The Special Operations Unit conducted a high visibility Traffic Enforcement Detail which focused on Move Over Act Violations. The results are as follows: 2 Speeding, 200 Move Over Violations, 1 Stop Sign Violations. There were a total of 252 citations issued during this detail and 2 Arrests made.
  • 07/08/2008 - The Special Operations Unit conducted a high visibility Traffic Enforcement Detail which focused on Speed Enforcement. The results are as follows: 165 Speeding, 9 Red Light Violations, 2 Move Over Violations, 13 Stop Sign Violations. There were a total of 241 citations issued during this detail and 6 Arrests made.
  • 07/04/2008 - The Special Operations Unit Conducted a DUI Saturation Detail which focused on Impaired Drivers in the City of Pinellas Park on the July 4th Holiday. The results are as follows: 5 DUI Arrests, 6 Safety Belt Violations, 72 Moving Violations. There were a total of 123 citation issued during this detail.
  • 06/20/2008 - The Special Operations Unit Conducted a DUI Saturation Detail which focused on Impaired Drivers in the City of Pinellas Park. The results are as follows: 0 DUI Arrests, 7 Safety Belt Violations, 65 Speeding Violations, 7 Criminal Violations. There were a total of 130 citation issued during this detail.
  • 05/30/2008 - The Special Operations Unit Conducted a DUI Saturation Detail which focused on Impaired Drivers in the City of Pinellas Park. The results are as follows: 4 DUI Arrests, 24 Speeding Violations, 3 other Criminal Violations. There were a total of 130 citations issued during this detail.
  • 05/17/2008 - The Special Operations Unit conducted a high visibility Traffic Enforcement Detail which focused on Speed Enforcement. The results are as follows: 282 Speeding Violations, 19 Safety Belt Violations, 7 Criminal Violations. There were a total of 332 citations issued during this detail.
  • 04/18/2008 - The Special Operations Unit Conducted a DUI Saturation Detail which focused on Impaired Drivers in the City of Pinellas Park. The results are as follows: 5 DUI Arrests, 52 Speeding Violations, 9 Criminal Violations, and 4 Felony Arrests. There were a total of 90 citations issued during this detail.
  • 04/08/2008 - The Special Operations Unit conducted a high visibility Traffic Enforcement Detail which focused on Speed Enforcement. The results are as follows: 148 Speeding, 14 Red Light Violations, 11 Move Over Violations, 10 Stop Sign Violations. There were a total of 224 citations issued during this detail.
  • 03/21/2008 - The Special Operations Unit Conducted a DUI Saturation Detail which focused on Impaired Drivers in the City of Pinellas Park. The results are as follows: 2 DUI Arrests, 3 Driving While Suspended, 2 No Valid License Violations, 35 Speeding Violations, 5 Red Light Violations, 2 Stop Sign Violations, 8 Safety Belt Violations, 2 Child Safety Seat Violations, 10 Other Non-Moving Violations, 2 Careless Driving Violations, 7 Other moving Violations, with a total of 71 citations issued.
  • 03/11/2008 - The Special Operations Unit conducted a high visibility Traffic Enforcement Detail which focused on Speed Enforcement on Bryan Dairy Road. The results are as follows: 234 Speeding Violations, 3 Other Criminal Violations, 9 Red Light Violations, 1 Driving While License Suspended, 5 Other Moving Violations, 16 Other Non-Moving Violations, 15 Seat Belt Violations, 3 Move Over Violations, 2 No Proof of Insurance Violations, 2 Equipment Violations, 6 Stop Sign Violations, and 1 No Valid Driver's License Violation. There were a total of 297 citations issued during this detail.
  • 02/22/2008 - The Special Operations Unit Conducted a DUI Saturation Detail which focused on Impaired Drivers in the City of Pinellas Park. The results are as follows: 31 Speeding Violations, 2 Seat Belt Violations, 7 Criminal Violations, 7 Other Moving Violations, and 5 Other Non-Moving Violations. There were a total of 9 arrests made, 5 for DUI, 1 for DWLSR, 2 for Possession of Controlled Substance, and 1 for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
  • 02/12/2008 - The Special Operations Unit conducted a high visibility Traffic Enforcement Detail which focused on recent citizen complaints we have received city wide. The results are as follows: 56 Speeding Violations, 13 Stop/Red Light Violations, 5 Seatbelt Violations, 2 Other Moving Violations, 8 Other Non-Moving Violations, 3 Criminal Violations, 2 Arrests.

DUI Saturation Patrols – A group of officers, typically 10 or more, who are specifically patrolling the city for impaired drivers. These officers are specially trained in the detection of Impaired Drivers and Drug Recognition.


Traffic Enforcement Patrols – A group of officers, typically 10 or more, who are specifically patrolling the city for traffic violators. There are many themes to each patrol where the focus could be on Speeders, Red Lights Runners, or Safety Belt violators, to name a few.
