FAQ List
Q: How do I get sidewalks on my street?
A: The Community Planning Division annually develops a sidewalk improvement program. On an annual basis, about $90,000 is identified in the Capital Improvements Program (CIP) for sidewalk improvements. The City's goal is to have sidewalks installed on at least one side of every street within the city limits, beginning with our residential neighborhoods. To keep costs down, annual sidewalk projects are concentrated in a specific geographic area of the City. This method allows the contractor to remain in the same general area for the duration of the construction period, thus the City is able to get more sidewalks installed for the investment. Installation of concrete sidewalks along City streets are completed with a minimum of inconvenience to residents. For further information about the sidewalk program or to make a suggestion about an area of the City in need of sidewalks, please contact the Community Planning Division at (727) 541-0704. For further information concerning construction, please contact Engineering Services at (727) 541-0754.
