Station 36 History

Engine Company #36 was originally part of the High Point Volunteer Fire Department. The rapid growth of the area resulted in the absorption of the eastern portion of the High Point Fire District in 1984. The Pinellas Park Fire Department absorbed High Point Engine Company #2 along with 14 firefighters, all equipment and the fire station, located at 13801 Evergreen Avenue. Engine Company #36 became the first engine company in Pinellas Park to provide paramedic advance life support services.

Currently, 9 firefighters and 3 Lieutenants are stationed at Fire Station #36 along with a 1997 Luverne Engine with advance life support capabilities. Additional equipment includes a 1997 Wheeled Coach rescue for transport, a 1987 Gator/Pemfab 1500 GPM pumper, and a 2002 John Deere ATV used as a mobile rescue at special outdoor events. Engine Company #36 response area includes the St. Petersburg/Clearwater Airport and two of Pinellas County's largest bridges; the Bayside Bridge and the Howard Frankland Bridge.
