The following is a list of the children's programs that will be available for:

Summer Programs: Make A Splash @ Your Library
Splashy Tales Thursdays at 2:00 p.m. WIN PRIZES BY READING BOOKS! Library staff & volunteers will present stories in unique & fun ways including: storyboarding, costumes, puppetry & storytelling. There will be a craft or game at each program on June 17th, 24th, July 1st, July 8th, 15th, 22nd. Collect tokens by attending our book sharing programs and by reading books. Spend your tokens for prizes at our Summer Bazaar on July 29th!
Special Performances/Programs Tuesdays at 2:00 p.m.
June 22nd Pinellas Park Police Department The Community Redevelopment Team brings their newest cool vehicles to show off their dramatic moves. The Segway is a sleek, two-wheeled carrier with a single standing rider. There's also a Smart Car & an A.T.V. (All-Terrain Vehicle). Fun!
June 29th Giving Tree Music "Drum Circle" with Steve Turner Discover the history and magic of drumming by making some noise at the library. Become impassioned by Steve's experience in a drum circle. Everyone will get the chance to drum, sing & play music together.
July 6th Great Explorations: "I Hear Music" Join us as we enjoy qualities of music. Where does it come from? How is rhythm & beat created? We'll sample different types of music, such as Funk, Rhythm & Blues, Orchestral, etc. Sounds like a good time!
July 13th Largo Nature Park: The Wildlife Show Learn about animals who live right here in Pinellas County. We'll talk about their habitat, their hunting and their feeding habits, as well as many other amazing facts.
July 20th Wonders of Nature with Matt Edmonds Unique among wildlife shows, Matt combines amazing free flight behaviors from beautiful raptors and parrots, with humor, conservation, audience participation, and reptiles - including one of the largest pythons in the world!
July 27th Actors Reaching Out Come & experience a musical about the mythical creatures of Ireland, including faeries, leprechauns, banshees & Grace O'Malley, the pirate queen. Join young Brendan on his quest as he rediscovers his Irish roots and befriends magical creatures along the way.
Weekly Programs
Story Time Tuesdays at 10:00 a.m. This program is designed for children ages 3-5 years and may include stories, rhymes, finger plays and crafts.
Mother Goose Tuesdays at 10:45 a.m., and Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m. This program is designed for children from birth to three years old, and their parents. We will share various activities that include rhymes, finger plays, stories, and songs.
Evening Mother Goose Thursdays at 7:00 p.m. For young children and their parents. This program includes shorter stories, songs, fingerplays and a simple craft.
Reading Patch Club Tuesdays at 3:30-4:30 p.m. (Ending June 1st) This is a reading incentive program for elementary school students. Children hear about great books and earn stickers and patches for reading. Attendance is encouraged but not required to earn incentives.
Sign Language
Thursdays 3:30-4:30 p.m.
Learn the basics of American Sign Language. For youth of all ages.
Word Play – Wednesdays at 10:00 a.m.
This program is designed for younger elementary school children to promote literacy skills over the summer. Teen volunteers will share literacy games centered on words and wordplay. Registration is required and begins June 2nd. Program starts June 16th, and goes through July 28th.
Special Programs
Sunday Spectaculars You're invited to join Ms. Krystal for booksharing, songs, games, crafts, and snacks. Registration is required and begins the first of each month. Wild West Days May 16th Under The Sea June 20th Super Science July 18th
American Girl: Meet these historical American Girls. Participants must be age six or older.
