Community GardenThe Freedom Lake Community Garden is located at the entrance to Freedom Lake Park. The garden is operated by the Recreation Division and consists of 16 raised garden beds that are available for seasonal rental by the public to grow organic vegetables and ornamental plants. Plants or trees that would cast shade onto other boxes are prohibited, as are invasive species.

The garden boxes are available during two growing seasons. The rental fee for 5' X 8' boxes is $10.00 per growing season, while 5' X 16' boxes are available for $15.00 per growing season. The garden has proven so popular that there is currently a waiting list to rent the boxes.

The garden is located adjacent to Freedom Lake Center, which boasts a nature mural completed during the 2008 Recreation Division summer camp through a partnership by Youth Arts Corps Productions, an after school arts program of Family Resources, Inc. that serves middle and high school youth.
