Attempted Armed Robbery Suspect Arrested

On Wednesday, April 20, 2011, shortly after 1 AM, the suspect attempted to rob a cashier at the Wal-Mart Market at 6900 US 19.  The suspect implied that he had a handgun and threatened the cashier, a 41 year old female.  In the process the suspect said he would kill the cashier if she did not comply.  Another employee heard the commotion and approached the area.  The suspect saw the employee approaching and fled from the store and initially escaped apprehension. 

Investigators were informed of a similar robbery occurring hours prior to this one at the LaQuinta Inn at 4990 34 Street N.  The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office investigated the LaQuinta Inn robbery and was able to identify Bradley McCallister, 34, of 7276 59^th Street North, Pinellas Park as the suspect after releasing surveillance video.  McCallister was subsequently identified as the suspect in the Wal-Mart Market robbery.  He was already in the Pinellas County jail and has been charged with the attempted robbery related to this case.
