Man Arrested for Ongoing Sexual Relations with Minor

On Monday, April 25, 2011, Pinellas Park Police officers were called to a residence to investigate a report that a 14 year old female had been sexually battered by her mother’s boyfriend.  Investigators determined that there have been ongoing sexual relations between 50 year old Royce Wayne Cook, and his girlfriend’s daughter.  Cook has been living with the family for several years and the events have been occurring for years.  The victim’s family has lived in different locations and moved frequently, from out of state and within Pinellas County.

Investigators interviewed Cook who admitted to his actions.  He was subsequently arrested and charged with 6 counts of Sexual battery - Familial Authority.  Detectives are continuing their investigation and processing of evidence.  Further charges could be made in the future.
