Fatal Motorcycle Crash on US 19
At 7:19 AM, a motorcyclist traveling northbound on US Hwy 19 near Mainlands Blvd in Pinellas Park struck the rear of a motor vehicle that had just made a U-turn from southbound to northbound. The motorcyclist was ejected and died at the hospital from injuries sustained in the crash. Laura Edmisten, age 34 of Pinellas Park, was driving a Chevy Cavalier and had just completed a U-turn when she was struck by the motorcycle. Raquivaius M. France, age 24 of St. Petersburg, was operating the motorcycle. Witnesses told investigators the motorcyclist was traveling at a high rate of speed and weaving through northbound traffic prior to the crash. This incident is being investigated by traffic homicide investigators. No charges have been filed at this time.
