Motorcyclist Killed in Automobile Crash

At 10:35 AM, Pinellas Park Police Officers and Firefighters responded to a fatal injury crash involving three motor vehicles and a motorcycle.

A preliminary investigation has determined that a 2005 Mercury operated by Gladys Evan, age 70, of Seminole, was eastbound on Bryan Dairy Road when she stopped in the eastbound curb lane for a wooden stool that was in the roadway.  A 2004 Honda operated by Lisa Farmer, age 27 of Seminole, stopped directly behind Evan.  A 2005 Suzuki motorcycle operated by Leonard Dionne, age 73 of Largo, stopped behind Farmer making his motorcycle the third vehicle stopped for the stool.

A 1994 Ford pick-up truck operated by Richard Jarrel, age 23 of Seminole, was also eastbound in the curb lane.  Jarrel's vehicle failed to stop for the line of vehicles stopped in front of him.  Jarrel's truck collided with Dionne's motorcycle ejecting Dionne from the bike.  The motorcycle then struck Farmer's Honda and the Honda collided with Evan's Mercury.

Dionne and Jarrel were transported to local hospitals were Dionne succumbed to his injuries.  Jarrel was treated and released.  Evan and Farmer declined medical treatment.

Eastbound lanes of Bryan Dairy Road were closed for several hours as officers investigated the crash.

This crash is still under investigation.  Charges are pending.
