Serious Injury Crash - Semi Tractor Trailer Strikes Building

At 12:14 PM, Pinellas Park Police Officers and Firefighters responded to a serious crash at the intersection of 49th Street and 70th Avenue North.

The preliminary crash investigation has determined that a Kenworth semi tractor trailer was northbound on 49th Street when it impacted a Mercury Grand Marquis that was attempting to make a left turn from southbound 49th Street onto eastbound 70th Avenue. 

After the initial impact, the semi left the roadway, struck a traffic light pole, a light pole, and then struck the Black Mountain clothing store located at 7031 49th Street.  Due to the extent of damage, both driver's were airlifted via Bayflight Helicopter to local hospitals.  No information on their conditions is available at this time.  No injuries were reported to persons inside of the building. 

Portions of the intersection remain closed at this time as the investigation continues.  Northbound traffic on 49th Street is being diverted at 68th Avenue North.  Westbound 70th Avenue traffic is being diverted at 47th Street North.

1997 Mercury 4 Door
Driver: Charlotte L McClintock, Pinellas Park FL, Age 89

2007 Kenworth Tractor Truck
Driver: Philip J Agostinacchio, Spring Hill FL, Age 44

McClintock is currently at Bayfront Hospital in Critical condition and next of kin was notified by hospital staff.
Agostinacchio is also at Bayfront Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

No further information is available at this time and the investigation is ongoing.
