Bank Robbery with Suspect in Custody

Suspect:
Korion Antwan Amons
B/M 11/04/1980
745 29th Ave S.
St. Petersburg, FL

On Saturday, October 15, 2011, at approximately 10:30am, Korion Antwan Amons entered the Wells Fargo Bank at 7100 US HWY 19 N. Once inside, Amons presented a teller with a note indicating that he had a bomb in the bank and would detonate it if not given money. The note alluded that Amons was a terrorist.

Once provided with an undisclosed amount of cash, Amons fled the bank on foot. A witness followed the suspect north from the bank and was able to direct responding officers to his location.  After being located, Amons told responding officers that he had a bomb strapped to his body and again made indications that he was a terrorist.  Officers were able to take Amons into custody without incident and all of the stolen money was recovered.

Amons was arrested and transported to the Pinellas County Jail where he is being held with a $10,000 bond.
