Armed Men Fire Shots in Credit Union Robbery
On Friday, November 07, 2008, around 5:49 PM, two armed, men rushed into the Suncoast Schools Federal Credit Union at 10597 US 19 and committed an armed robbery. The suspects fired their handguns several times in the bank and vaulted the barrier to the teller area. The suspects each had a silver colored handgun. They are described as black males in their 20's, having medium builds and:
Suspects' description #1: 5'8" to 6' tall, wearing all black clothing covering his arms and legs, white sneakers, a black hat with red stitching on the brim, and a white bandanna covering his face. His shirt has an Egyptian symbol resembling a pharaoh on the font.
#2: Average height, wearing a baggy white polo style long sleeve shirt with thin horizontal black stripes, dark pants, blue colored sneakers with white trim, and a black and white bandanna covering his face.
The suspects jumped the counter and took an undetermined amount of cash. They then jumped back over the counter and fled on foot. Investigators believe they had a car nearby. None of the credit union staff were injured in the robbery.
