Witnesses described the following; Thomas on his 2006 Honda M/C and an unknown red sports car were engaged in a street race eastbound on Park Blvd from 66th Street.  During the race witnesses stated that they actually observed Thomas driving eastbound on the sidewalk passing vehicles while engaged in the race.  Witnesses estimated the speed of the two vehicles at 80-100 mph while in the race. 

Renshaw was westbound on Park Blvd and attempted to make a left turn to go southbound on 62 Way.  As Renshaw entered the intersection, Thomas's M/C struck the right rear quarter panel.  Thomas was ejected from the M/C and came to rest over 150 feet away.  The unknown red vehicle, who was trailing Thomas's M/C continued through the scene, fled the area.  The identity of the red vehicle driver is unknown.

Thomas died of his injuries enroute to the hospital (Northside). The other driver (Renshaw) was not injured in the crash.
