Attempted Bank Robbery Arrest

On November 25th, 2011, at approximately 8:11 am, Patrol units responded to a suspicious incident / possible robbery in progress at the Fifth Third Bank, 7770 66 Street N. 

Responding units were advised that a female suspect had entered the bank and demanded money from a teller.  The female suspect stated that a male accomplice was at another location holding a female bank employee at gunpoint and would harm the employee if the female suspect was not provided money from the bank.

The female suspect fled the bank prior to obtaining money.  Responding officers located a female suspect walking several blocks away from the bank.  After an investigation, the subject, Barbara Pickett, age 45 of Pinellas Park was taken into custody and charged with Robbery.   It was determined that the suspects allegation of an accomplice and threats to an unknown bank employee were false.

Pickett was transported to the Pinellas County Jail and was held on a $10,000 bond.
