The Community Redevelopment Policing Unit is hosting a neighborhood revitalization work day for the United Cottage neighborhood in Pinellas Park on Friday, December 9th, 2011. Multiple community partners (listed below) are providing volunteers and resources in an effort to give back to our community and improve the neighborhood located in the heart of Pinellas Park’s Community Redevelopment Area. Coalition members will be making visible improvements to the twenty homes in the neighborhood by painting, landscaping and making other cosmetic changes. The Police Department expects approximately 75 volunteers to participate throughout the day. United Cottages is located between 57th and 58th Street North between 75th and 76th Avenue North.
Members of the media are encouraged to come out first hand see this community coalition in action as we work together to make these neighborhood improvements.
The event kicks off at 10am with a short presentation and opening comments by community and project leaders. Lunch will be provided to all volunteers courtesy of the Police Department’s Explorer Post from 1:30pm-2:30pm. Work on the project will conclude at 5:30pm.
