Infant Death Investigation
On December 19th, 2011, at approximately 9:06pm, officers were dispatched to 8460 56 Way to assist the Fire Department in reference to a recently delivered newborn infant that was not breathing. The infant was treated by Pinellas Park Fire paramedics and rushed to All Children's Hospital where the baby was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
Pinellas Park Police detectives are currently on scene and in the early stages of a death investigation. As of this time, the cause of death has not been determined.

Criminal Investigators continue to examine the circumstances related to the death of a newborn male from 8460 56 Way last evening. No cause of death has been determined at this time but it does not appear to be trauma related. Investigators will be awaiting the official autopsy results from the Medical Examiner’s Office which could take several weeks. The child’s mother was also transported and admitted to a local hospital last evening for an undisclosed medical issue.
The mother and family are cooperating with investigators. No additional information is expected to be released until an official cause of death can be determined.
