Rick Butler was elected to City Council In March 1998 after serving as a member of the Pinellas Park Community Development Citizens Advisory Committee, and the City Of Pinellas Park Board Of Adjustment. After the election he represented the City on a variety of county wide boards such as the Pinellas County Economic Development Council, Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority, Pinellas County 1906 Committee and the Board of Pinellas  Enrichment Through Mental Health Services. Rick is on the Pinellas County Plan To End Homelessness Policy Group and former co-chair for the Affordable Housing Committee.

   Rick has been a driving force in our community for more than 30 years, serving as president of the Pinellas Park/Gateway Chamber of Commerce, past president of the Pinellas Park Kiwanis Club and past president of the Pinellas Park Boys and Girls Club. Rick has served as a trustee of Columbia Northside Hospital and the Pinellas Park Equity Study Commission. Councilman Butler also served as a past board member of the Pinellas Park Art Society and the St. Giles Emergency Food Pantry and is  past president of Celebrate Pinellas Park which organizes the Christmas parade each year.

    Rick has received many awards over the years including Citizen of the Year, Key to the City, Boys and Girls Clubs of America Golden Boy Award for Service. A Kiwanis Clubs George Hixson Fellowship Award and the Chambers Leader in Government Award. Most recently, he received the PACE Award from PEHMS for Outstanding Service in Government Affairs. Rick is currently on the local Board of Managers for the Pinellas Park Boys & Girls Club.

   Rick is immediate past president of the Suncoast League of Cities.

   Rick is the owner of Rick Butler Realty and is a life-long resident of the City of Pinellas Park.  An avid outdoor person enjoying all aspects of hunting, fishing and alligator trapping. Rick is also a vintage scooter enthusiast, mostly Cushmans and Harley Davidsons. Rick and his wife Carol have one son Ricky, 2 Basset Hounds and a couple of cats.
