Captain Michael Darroch


History

Captain Mike Darroch has been a member of the Pinellas Park Police Department since 1983. Prior to promotion, he served as a Patrol Officer, Master Patrol Officer, Field Training Officer and Detective. In addition to his regularly assigned duties, Mike Darroch served as a member of the Pinellas Park Police Department SWAT Team where he held the position of Sniper and Sniper Team Leader.

Promotions

In 1994, Mike Darroch was selected as the Pinellas Park Police Department Officer of the Year. Later that year he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant where he served in the Patrol Section and within the Criminal Investigations Section.

In 2005, Mike Darroch was promoted to Lieutenant and served as a shift commander in the Patrol Section for more than 10 years. On April 24th, 2015, Mike Darroch was promoted to his current rank of Captain.

Education

Captain Darroch graduated from the University of South Florida with a Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice. He is a graduate of the Southern Police Institute's Administrative Officer's Course, class Number 116, and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement Senior Leadership Program (SLP), class Number 14.

Current Position


Captain Darroch currently serves as the Investigations Division Commander. He is responsible for management oversight of the Criminal Investigations Section, Vice and Narcotics Section, Community Redevelopment Policing Unit, and budget oversight.
