Library and Cultural Affairs

The Library and Cultural Affairs Department serves the public by providing a wide variety of cultural, educational, artistic and literary activities to the residents of Pinellas Park and neighboring communities.

The Barbara S. Ponce Public Library offers an extensive collection of print and electronic materials, programs, and services for children, youth, and adults of all ages and interests.  Together with the Library Board and Friends of the Library, the Barbara S. Ponce Public Library works to expand the literary, recreational, and information resources available to our patrons;  enhance the quality of life of our residents and visitors; and foster the sense of community that characterizes the City of Pinellas Park.

The Department's Cultural Affairs office was created in May, 2015 to develop a new initiative to expand arts and cultural offerings throughout our city.  As one of its first projects, the office is coordinating the Pinellas Park Better Block project, which will enlist the community in envisioning the future of the arts district now emerging in the area of the 5600 Block of Park Boulevard.  The Cultural Affairs office will also play an increasingly active role in our Community Redevelopment District.

The City's Recreation Services division now operates under the Public Works Department.
