Case# 2010- 1915

On Saturday, January 23, 2010, at approximately 10:50 pm, an apparently homeless man was struck by a car and killed as he tried to cross Park Boulevard in the 5600 block.  The 51 year-old man was crossing from the south to the north when he entered into the path of a gold 2006 Cadillac sedan.  The westbound Cadillac was driven by Joseph Harlan, 80, of Bradenton, FL.

The pedestrian was transported to Northside Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries a short time later.  Witnesses told the traffic homicide investigators that the pedestrian appeared to stumble as he crossed the road directly into the path of the Cadillac.  Although the investigators are continuing their thorough investigation, it does not appear as though Mr. Harlan will face any charges related to this crash.  Investigators have identified the pedestrian and are attempting to locate his next of kin.
