This case involves the hit and run of a pedestrian named Arthur Maurer.  At approximately 6:30 AM on August 5th, 2005, Arthur Maurer attempted to cross 66th Street just south of the Park Blvd intersection.  Heather Forcier was driving her Red Chevy Cavalier southbound on 66th Street in the median lane.  As she passed Arthur Maurer, her passenger side mirror struck him spinning him around.  A white mini-van traveling behind Forcier's Cavalier then struck Maurer head-on causing massive injuries to Maurer's body.  As Arthur Maurer laid in the roadway, both vehicles stopped at the scene.  Heather Forcier exited her vehicle and remained at the scene.  The driver of the white mini-van and a passenger both exited their vehicle to look at Maurer, but quickly re-entered their vehicle and left the scene southbound without providing anyone with their identity.  Arthur Maurer was taken to Bayfront Medical Hospital where he died of blunt trauma to his head and torso sustained when the mini-van struck him

The driver of the mini-van was described by witnesses as a heavy set white female, late 30's to early 40's in age, shoulder length blond hair. She was wearing white shorts and a yellow shirt, with sandals.  The passenger was described as a late teens to early 20's, white male with blond hair, wearing a white shirt and black pants.

The mini-van was described as possibly being a white Toyota Sienna, with tan or gold trim around the bottom of the door panels.  The tag had the digits IT9 or I9T possibly as the last three digits.  The van would have had some front end damage or denting.
