Operations Divisions

The Pinellas Park Fire Department Operations Division is responsible for protecting life and property in the City of Pinellas Park and providing mutual aid services to the surrounding fire departments.  The Operations Division is divided up into three major divisions:  Training, EMS, and Suppression.

  • Training Division is directed by Chief Thomas “TJ” Layfield.  Chief Layfield is a strong compassionate leader that drives our personnel to achieve excellence in every area of firefighting.
  • Emergency Medical Service (EMS) is directed by Chief Andrew Hughes.  Chief Hughes's vision and progressive planning for EMS will allow PPFD to be the leader in emergency medicine in Pinellas County.
  • Suppression Division is broken down into three shifts; A, B, and C shifts. Each one of these Chiefs has taken it upon themselves to utilize their own strengths to contribute to the success of PPFD.
