Fire Prevention Division

The mission of the Fire Prevention Division is to reduce and prevent injuries and property damage from fire and other hazards to provide the citizens of Pinellas Park with a safe environment in which to live, work, and play.

The Fire Prevention Division is responsible for fire inspections, construction plans review, and public education. and includes a deputy fire marshal and three fire prevention specialists. 

The deputy fire marshal is responsible for supervising the day-to-day fire prevention and public education functions of the Fire Prevention Division, establishing work priorities for the fire prevention specialists, and overseeing the smoke alarm installation program and pre-plan development schedule. 

The fire prevention specialists are responsible for conducting inspections of existing businesses and new construction to verify compliance with fire safety regulations, presenting public education programs and community outreach, and responding to fire incidents on a rotating basis as the inspector on call.
