Attempted Homicide Investigation 2-10-20

Suspect- Devin Quarterman I/M -10/4/1991- 12501 Land St Largo 33773
WHAT: On 2/9/2020, at approximately 2300 hours, Gerrardo Garcia was attacked by Devin Quarterman at 10191 66th St. Quarterman surprised Garcia and struck him multiple times with a machete. Quarterman fled the scene prior to law enforcement arrival. Garcia was transported to a local hospital where he is listed in critical condition.
It was determined Garcia and Quarterman were involved in dispute recently which led to this incident. This afternoon, Quarterman was located and taken into custody without incident. Quarterman has been transported to the Pinellas County Jail and has been charged with Attempted First Degree Murder.

What: Pinellas Park Police responded to 10191 66th St for two subjects who were involved in a physical altercation. During the altercation, one of the male subjects struck the male victim with a machete. The male victim was transported to a local hospital and is listed in critical condition.
The male suspect fled the scene prior to law enforcement arrival and has not yet been located. Investigators are still actively working this investigation. This is an isolated incident and the two adult male subjects were known to each other.
No other information is being released at this time. Once more information is obtained, it will be disseminated as follow-up to this release.
