Title: Hit and Run Crash with Injury

Case Number: 2020-14357

When:  Friday, February 28, 2020 @ 6:59 PM

Where: 9500 Block US HWY 19 Pinellas Park, FL

What:  A 2001 Mazda Protege was disabled in the center southbound lane in the
9500 block of US Hwy 19. A 2006 Toyota Highlander that was travelling
southbound in the center lane failed to see the disabled vehicle and crashed
into the rear of it. The disabled vehicle was occupied by three juveniles and
their mother. The Toyota’s driver and passenger both got out of the vehicle
and fled from the scene on foot. They have not been identified at this time.
The victims were all transported to the hospital with non-life threatening
injuries.

The driver is a 25 year old woman. In the vehicle were three children ages 1,4
and 12. This case remains open and active. I don’t have any further
information and don’t expect any more updates this evening.
