City of Pinellas Park’s Public Works Department Receives Accreditation from the American Public Works Association (APWA)

PINELLAS PARK – The City of Pinellas Park’s Public Works Department has achieved accreditation with the American Public Works Association (APWA). The APWA’s accreditation program exists for the purpose of providing formal verification and recognition of public works departments that apply the recommended public works management practices.

“The Accreditation of the City of Pinellas Park’s Department of Public Works indicates our staff have met all applicable accreditation documentation and practices over time. This APWA accreditation reflects the dedication from all staff who have committed to continued improvement and excellence. We are extremely proud to receive this honor. The heroes of this prestigious APWA award are truly the public works staff whose mission is to provide services and programs that contribute to making Pinellas Park a great place to live and work, said Bart Diebold, Assistant City Manager/Public Works Administrator.

The benefits to an accredited Public Works Department that the City is looking forward to are increased operational performance, increased teamwork, reduced duplication of work and wasted resources, reduced liability and lower insurance premiums.
