TITLE: Fatal Crash Investigation
WHEN: March 3, 2021, at 3:15 PM
WHERE: Grand Avenue north North Gandy Blvd
WHAT: On March 3, 2021 m, at approximately 3:15 PM, officers responded to a
single-vehicle crash on Grand Ave north of North Gandy Blvd. Upon arrival,
the driver and sole occupant had transported to a local hospital and
pronounced deceased.
Through investigation, it was learned the vehicle was traveling at a high rate
of speed while north on Grand Ave. The portion of the roadway the vehicle was
traveling on bends to the right. The driver failed to negotiate the curve at
a high speed, ultimately leaving the road and striking a large tree. The
collision caused the vehicle to be redirected back into the roadway. The car
involved was a 2020 Toyota Corolla.
The identity of the driver will be released at a later time during the
investigation.

Police Department.

TITLE: Serious Crash Investigation
WHEN: March 3, 2021, at 3:15 PM
WHERE: Grand Avenue north of Gandy Blvd
WHAT: Officers are on the scene of a severe crash on Grand Ave north of North
Gandy Blvd. At this time, northbound Grand Avenue is closed and will remain
closed for several hours.
As more information is made available, our agency will provide a follow-up
release.
