Serious Injury Crash

TITLE: Serious Injury Crash Investigation

WHEN: May 31, 2021, at approximately 2040 hours

WHERE: 9300 Blk US Highway 19 (Northbound lanes)

WHO: Debra Felton, 58, W/F - Resident of St. Petersburg (Driver of Truck)

David Hollis, 67, W/M - Resident of Pinellas Park (Driver of motorcycle)

WHAT: On May 31, 2021, at approximately 2040 hours, officers responded to a
crash involving a motor vehicle and a motorcycle in the 9300 Blk of northbound
US Highway 19.
The male driver of the motorcycle sustained life-threatening injuries and has
been transported to a local hospital for treatment.

It was learned a 1998 green Ford F150, driven by Debra Felton, was making a
left turn from southbound US Highway 19 into the parking lot of 9359 US
Highway 19.  At the time, traffic in the median and middle lane were stopped
for other traffic ahead, allowing Debra Felton to make her left turn.  A 2008
Suzuki motorcycle, driven by David Hollis, was traveling north on US Highway
19 in the curb lane.  The truck entered the curb lane causing the motorcycle
to change lanes to avoid a collision.  David Hollis laid down the bike upon
changing lanes and struck the truck's front while in the right turn lane.

The investigation is still open and active.  Neither speed nor impairment is a
factor in the causation of the crash.

No other information regarding this incident is expected to be released.
