TITLE: Hit and Run Crash with Serious Injury

WHEN: June 3rd, 2021, at 9:15 PM

WHERE: 66th St N, directly north of Bryan Dairy Rd

WHO:

Vehicle 1 - 2013 Ford work van - Driver - Kenny Valle 31 YOA - St. Petersburg

Vehicle 2 - Described as an older single cab pickup truck - Black in color -
Driver described as a heavyset black male, approximately 50 YOA.

Pedestrian -58 YOA Male - Local Transient

WHAT: On June 3rd, at approximately 2115 hours, officers responded to a crash
involving a vehicle and a pedestrian in the northbound lanes of 66th St, north
of Bryan Dairy Rd.  The pedestrian sustained serious injuries and was
transported to a local hospital in critical condition.

Through investigation, it was learned a male pedestrian was crossing 66th St,
north of Bryan Dairy Rd, when he was struck by two vehicles.  The first
vehicle remained on scene and is cooperating with investigators.  The second
vehicle failed to remain on the scene and has not contacted law enforcement. 
The second vehicle is described as an older black, single cab pickup truck. 
The driver was described as a heavyset black male, approximately 50 YOA.

This investigation is still open and active at this time.  Investigators are
searching for the second vehicle involved and are asking if anyone has
information regarding this incident to please contact Crime Stoppers
(1-800-973-TIPS) or the Pinellas Park Police Department (727-369-7840).

At this time, the pedestrian's identity is being withheld, pending the
notification of next of kin.  If any other information is obtained, a
follow-up release will be sent out.
