TITLE: Single Vehicle Crash with Serious Bodily Injury

WHEN: June 9, 2021, at approximately 05:23 AM

Driver - Michail Gaddy B/M - 20 YOA - St. Petersburg

Vehicle - 2015 Nissan Rogue SUV

WHAT: On June 9, 2021, at approximately 05:23 AM, officers responded to a
single-vehicle crash located at 49th St N and 91st Ave.  It was reported
several occupants were trapped within the vehicle that had struck a palm tree
in the center median.  The collision caused a small fire from the vehicle and
all five occupants were trapped in the SUV.  A group of citizens stopped and
extinguished the small fire and assisted with removing the occupants from the
vehicle.  The five occupants were transported to local hospitals with serious
injuries.

Through investigation, it was learned the SUV was traveling south on 49th St
at a high rate of speed. The vehicle drifted from the lane of travel for
unknown reasons and struck the raised concrete median before hitting a palm
tree.  Investigators located a stolen handgun and narcotics within the
vehicle.  No other vehicles were involved in this crash.

This investigation is still active and criminal charges are pending.   If

TITLE: Single Vehicle Crash Closes 49th St in Pinellas Park

WHEN: June 9, 2021, at approximately 0523

WHERE: 9000 Blk 49th St N

WHAT:

On June 9th, 2021, at approximately 0523 hours, officers responded to a
single-vehicle crash in the 9000 Blk 49th St N.  A white SUV struck a tree in
the median of 49th St and all five occupants have been transported to local
hospitals with serious injuries.

At this time, the scene is still active and the crash is under investigation. 
A follow-up release will be sent upon the conclusion of the investigation.

TRAFFIC ALERT- All north and southbound lanes of 49th St will be closed for
several hours.  Traffic is being diverted at 94th Ave and 86th Ave.
