City of Pinellas Park Gets Funding for Two Important Projects that will Positively Impact the Community

PINELLAS PARK –Governor Ron DeSantis approves the City of Pinellas Park’s appropriation requests. The City requested more than 600,000 thousand dollars to fund two projects -one that will positively impact the environment and the other that will address safety and mobility. The projects that were awarded funding are as follows:

Beacon Run North and South Ponds Water Quality Project – The purpose of this project is to reduce/eliminate flooding and puddling on local streets and properties, improve stormwater outfalls into the Cross Bayou Canal and further into the basin, reduce mosquito infestations, eliminate invasive species and sediment and reduce pollutant levels reaching large bodies of water (award $450,000)

Pinellas Park Pinebrook Safety and Mobility Project - The primary purpose of the proposed improvements is to make street layout changes that will eliminate right of way parking and improve safe access to recreational opportunities for several communities surrounding the Pinebrook neighborhood. The improvements create safe traffic flow, improvements to increase pedestrian safety, and additional parking spaces that will eliminate right of way parking (award $165,560)

“On behalf of the Mayor, City Council and myself, we are thankful for the unwavering support of our entire Pinellas Legislative Delegation, including our Bill Sponsors, Representative Lindsay Cross and Senator Nick DiCeglie,” said Bart Diebold, City Manager for the City of Pinellas Park. “We also are extremely grateful to the Speaker of the House, Paul Renner, the Senate President, Kathleen Passidomo and Governor Ron DeSantis for seeing the value in these projects and supporting our community needs,” concluded Diebold.
