About the Chief


Chief Adam Geissenberger began his career with the Pinellas Park Police Department after working for the Florida Department of Corrections and the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office.       


Throughout Chief Geissenberger's 23 years of service to this department and our community, he has served in each section of the organization. His previous assignments include; youth services detective, school resource officer, vice & narcotics detective, patrol corporal, professional standards officer, patrol sergeant, records sergeant, special services sergeant, and accreditation manager. In addition, Chief Geissenberger was a field training officer and a traffic homicide investigator. He served for ten years on the Tampa Bay Multi-Agency Gang Task Force. In 2012, Chief Geissenberger was selected to represent our agency as Police Officer of the Year, and that same year was promoted to sergeant.


In 2015, Chief Geissenberger was promoted to lieutenant, where he served as a patrol commander. In addition to his patrol commander duties, Chief Geissenberger had additional responsibilities, including public information officer, high liability instructor, new supervisor training manager, and FTEP coordinator. Chief  Geissenberger was an agency instructor in firearms, Taser, defensive tactics, and emergency vehicle operations. Chief Geissenberger has received training as an accreditation manager and accreditation commission assessor.


Chief Geissenberger holds two master’s degrees from Troy University; a Master of Science in Criminal Justice and a Master of Public Administration. Chief Geissenberger graduated from the 266th Session of the FBI National Academy and was the president of the Senior Leadership Program, Class #21, at the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. Chief  Geissenberger is a graduate of Leadership Pinellas class of 2021.
