Questions Concerning Your New Development?
The City of Pinellas Park Community Development Department, in concert with multiple City Departments and Divisions, will hold virtual Pre-Development meetings for design professionals who wish to discuss a proposed upcoming development. The goal of this meeting is to discuss the proposed project and give an opportunity for multiple divisions to note common requirements and address any concerns that may arise as we review the proposed project preliminary site plan. There is opportunity for all parties to ask questions prior to final design so that the permitting process will proceed more smoothly.

Notice to Customers About a System Change
We have recently upgraded our system to improve our services. Contractors may apply for a residential water heater, roof or A/C change-out online. At a later date you will be able to apply for permits and attach plans online.
Once registered in the new system, you can check on plan reviews and inspections at the click of a mouse.

What Do We Do
Mission Statement
Perform plan reviews and inspections to secure safety, health, and general welfare of the public while enforcing federal, state, county and local codes. Issue Business Tax Receipts to all new and existing businesses in a simple and expedient manner.
Responsibilities
The Building Development Division is responsible for the following:
- Ensuring that new development and modifications to existing development in Pinellas Park is completed in compliance with State, County, City, and local laws and codes.
- Providing technical information to citizens, contractors, and developers regarding codes, ordinances, and other related issues.
- Issuing Business Tax Receipts (BTRs) for commercial and home-based businesses.
- Assisting citizens and consumers by providing information on business licensure and regulation requirements.
