[ARCHIVED] Florida Severe Weather Awareness Week and Tornado Drill!

2020 Florida Severe Weather Awareness Week logo

Severe Weather Awareness Week is an opportunity for Floridians to learn about the various weather hazards that frequently impact the state and how families and businesses can prepare for these natural events.

Each day focuses on a specific weather event: lightning, marine hazards & rip currents, thunderstorms & tornadoes, hurricanes & flooding, and temperature extremes & wildfires. Connect to Severe Weather Awareness Week to find out more about each hazard.

As part of Severe Weather Awareness Week, we urge everyone to practice their tornado safety plan during the Great Tornado Drill on January 29 at 10:00am.  Find out more about the drill and how you can stay safe during a tornado at The Great Tornado Drill.
