The library is open

We Are OPEN! Newsflash edit

The library and all City facilities will be implementing new protocols and policies that allow services to be resumed in a step-by-step approach intended to minimize Covid-19 infections and protect public health in our community.

  • Our hours of operation will be reduced and will include a mid-day closure for cleaning. There may be a line outside the library as we must limit the number of people in the building at any given time.
  • Sign-in is required for entry into the library and all other City of Pinellas Park facilities.. This is to comply with the Department of Health’s contact tracing protocol.
  • Face coverings or masks are required to be worn for all patrons over age 2 to gain entry to the library and other City facilities. They must be worn for the duration of your visit.
  • Minors must be accompanied by an adult at all times to ensure that good hygiene and social distancing practices are followed.
  • No-contact pickup for items in our building begins May 11, so you will be able to obtain items without entering the library. The service will be offered Monday-Friday.
  • Exterior book drops remain open 24/7 for no-contact returns.
  • Requests through the catalog remain disabled until all PPLC libraries re-open. Courier service between libraries remains suspended until at least June, so we kindly ask that you return materials back to our library to minimize long transit delays.
  • We are asking that patrons not linger in the library. Please feel free to browse the collection; however you are encouraged to complete your transaction and exit the library.
  • PC access is reduced in order to comply with social distancing requirements. Sessions will be limited to 30 minutes. PCs are “self-help” due to distancing limitations on staff.
  • CDC guidelines are being followed for cleaning high-touch surfaces within the building; library materials are considered a low risk, though borrowers are encouraged to wipe materials and wash hands after handling for peace of mind.
  • Meeting rooms and study rooms will be closed and no reservations will be accepted.
  • The Children’s area currently has no toys or games for children and playdates or meetups are not allowed at this time.

While we realize these restrictions are a challenge, we are looking forward to seeing you and providing service safely to our citizens.
